At Butcher and Barrel, we believe a great restaurant is more than great food. It is a gathering place, a table where neighbors become friends, and a business rooted in the community it serves. Success, to us, means very little unless it is shared.

Since opening our doors in October 2023, giving back has been as essential to who we are as the ingredients we source and the guests we welcome. Every night, this dining room fills with the people who make Sacramento work. Teachers and nurses. Firefighters, police officers, and the paramedics and EMT’s who answer the call at every hour. Service members and the families who wait for them to come home. Volunteers, organizers, and philanthropists who have made giving back their life's mission, quietly and without asking for credit. They sit at our tables, and we never forget that we are here because they chose to spend an evening with us. Supporting them in return is not a program or an initiative. It is simply how we do business.

We are honored to stand behind organizations that lift up this city and the people in it. The Medic Keep the Beat Foundation, whose fall prevention and AED donation programs put lifesaving tools and knowledge directly into the hands of the people who need them. The Shriners, whose care for children changes the entire course of a young life. Local schools, where the next generation of Sacramento is being shaped every single day. Our first responders, who run toward what the rest of us run from. And the men and women of our armed forces, whose service asks more of them and their families than most of us will ever be asked to give.

We are proud members of the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and the California Restaurant Association, and we remain committed to the causes that make this city one we are grateful to call home. This page exists to recognize the organizations we have been fortunate enough to support, and to say thank you to the guests who make that support possible. Every reservation, every celebration, every ordinary Tuesday night at our bar helps us give back a little more.
